Today, I updated to Tiger and downloaded the b7: then I did a SVN checkout of the bundles. Everything appeared to be working fine, until I tried the Markdown bundle (I write my blog in Markdown). The bundle seems to work, but I get an immensely annoying system bell sound with every keystroke! The problem seems to be restricted to the Markdown bundle, as far as I can tell.
Anyway, thanks again for TextMate: it's really becoming a brain extension for me. Any chance of seeing any Automator/TM interplay in the future?

That sounds like the same behavior I was gettign when I messed up the include for the HTML language definition.
I am now running Tiger as well and I have not seen a problem with b7 and markdown.
If you want to mail me the Markdown.plist file in the Bundles/ markdown.tmbundle/Syntaxes directory I would be happy to take a look at it.
Also if you would take a look at your console and let us know what messages are coming out in the console when the beeps are happinging.

I looked at the Markdown.plist you sent me. It is identical to mine. Did you see any messages in the console? You might also check the HTML.plist file to make sure that the scopeName is text.html.basic
Anyone else have any ideas?

I don't get this behavior. Are you still getting this?
The only Markdown issue I have now is that TM thinks all .txt files should be treated as Markdown, for some odd reason.

Brad added .txt as a Markdown extension -- it should probably be removed ;)
Some info I forgot to mention: o starting with beta 6, languages can have key equivalents, so Plain text is option-ctrl-shift-P o if a bundle is disabled (in filter settings), the language from it can will still be used, but only if there are no other (enabled) languages that can read the file
So, a) when a file is (incorrectly) shown as markdown, you can use the key from above to go to plain text and b) if you disable the markdown bundle, it won't show .txt as markdown, but you'll still get the language for files ending with .markdown.
Guilty,
One must be careful about imposing one's personal preferences on the world. I write my blog entries in markdown and blosxom looks for .txt files to include. I tried a couple of firstLineMatch patterns but markdown and blosxom both assume that the first line is the title. I could configure blosxom to use a different file extension, but .markdown just seems wrong. There must be a shorter extension that others use?
