I suspect this is more like a feature request than anything else, but does anyone have a hack/workout/methodology for color labels in the project drawer - I know that open or unsaved files have a slightly different toned icon - than saved file icons - is there any way / plans to enhance this further?
I know that I for one would LOVE this feature..
regards

There is currently no way to do this, but improvements to the project drawer (including this feature) are already planned for TextMate 2.0. I’m curious why you would find this so useful, how do you mark your files with them?

Well anyway, here’s a plug-in for it http://ciaranwal.sh/?p=7
Awesome! Thank you!! I'm another person who relies on the color labels in the finder!

Hm, really? It actually crashed?
Can you tell me about the environment you were using it in – was it on a network drive? How many labels were there? Were there a lot of files?
Also, if you could send me the crashlog and any output into Console.app it would help
I managed to track down the crasher, and I’ve made some other improvements too.
New version is up at http://ciaranwal.sh/2007/10/11/finder-labels-in- the-textmate-project-view

but :) - at least in my opinion there's just one small flaw left. those colors are a little different than the ones used in finder. if you could adjust them a little so that they match this would be great. for example the purple is relatively dark and black letters within are hard to read.
anyway - nice eye-candy :)

Cool, Seems the crashing issue is resolved -- excellent work! I'm inclineed to agree - the colors are a bit off compared to the selections in the finder EXCELLENT JOB

Hi,
Very nice!!! Thanks!
The only thing I have to mention is that either the right side of the label dot icon will be overlapped by the document icon a bit or the dot has not enough space. I'm using the normal TM drawer.
See picture.

Btw, Hans, nice folding icons, where can I find those?

I use a modified version of Thomas Aylott's Leopard TextMate Theme Dark 2
see more: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.editors.textmate.general/21483/ http://article.gmane.org/gmane.editors.textmate.general/21492/
notes: This is not only a tmTheme but also it replaces some original TM nib files. So before you install it make a backup for safety reasons.

What did you modify about it? Is there anything I can do to improve it? I'm all for new ideas.

It’s becoming less likely that I’ll spend the time to fine-tune the colours/gradients, but I have changed the plug-in so you can customise the label opacity, for those who find the colours too striking.

Allan was kind enough to share the code he’ll be using to draw the Finder labels for the TextMate 2 project drawer, so I’ve been able to update the TMLabels plug-in to closer match the appearance of labels in the Finder.
Post is here: http://ciaranwal.sh/2007/11/25/tmlabels-update
I’ve left in the ability to change the opacity level but you’ll probably want to turn it back up if you switch to using this, you can read how to do so here: http://ciaranwal.sh/2007/10/11/finder-labels-in-the-textmate-project-view
