I've managed to hose the binding for my keypad Enter key. It doesn't do anything now. It could have had something to do with using the 'defaults' command, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions? I would even consider a return to all default keybindings.
ADVthanksANCE!

Is this only in TextMate that it's a no-op or system wide? and are you using it in a context where it has a special action, or do you just want it to insert a newline?

On my new PowerBook the Enter Key does not work as expected, too. e.g. in Markdown it won't continue a list. If I duplicate the Snippet and assign either the enter key (which is left to the left arrow key) or fn-Return to it it shows the same icon ⌅ and works on either of those keys. On my old iBook the standard snippet worked only with fn-Return for the standard TextMate keybinding.

Yep, I'm seeing exactly the same thing. (I always wondered why 'continue line comment' didn't work for me!) Attached are the two plist files, the default, and the working one. The keyEquivalent is different -- the one that doesn't work for me is prefixed with a #.

Thanks -- the # character indicates the key is on the numeric pad, which apparently is not sent for laptop keyboards. It can be stripped from the default stuff w/o causing a problem, but I'll have to modify the recording of key equivalents to also strip it for the enter key, it seems.

It is system wide. I'll continue to search the web.

My first guess would be that it's the keyboard. You may want to try and clean it and/or try connecting another keyboard (if you have one available).

Curiously, my Enter key doesn't work either. At all. Except it does wake the machine up from sleep. But even the keyboard viewer doesn't show it being pressed.

Thanks Allan,
Quite amazingly, it was the keyboard. Bought a new one, plugged it up, and everything works!
Thanks again for the help.
