I would definately need write and create ability, that stinks.
Is there a program that can be purchased that would allow me to mount an FTP with read, write and create?

Actually, why don't you look in to WebDAV? Is WebDAV not available to you? If so, you can mount the WebDAV point and it'll behave like a drive. Depending on configured permissions, you'll have the ability to read and write.

If it works for you, I would suggest syncing local to remote. It'll keep a backup while you're at it.
Transmit can synchronize directories, and you can send the command from Textmate to Transmit to sync via a bundle command. Transmit has sync preview, which is nice.
