Today something has changed and now my searches only return results if I choose the ³in Selection² option.
If I choose the ³in Document² or ³in Open Files² option the search does not find any matches even though there should be hundreds of them in my current document.
Any suggestion as to how I can fix this issue?
Thanks.
There’s not a lot to go on here.
One hunch I have is that you may have checked the “Regular Expression” checkbox unintentionally.
Other then that, could you send a screen shot of your find dialog or try Reverting to Defaults.

Thanks for your reply. The ³Regular Expression² setting was the first thing that I had suspected but it was not active. I never figured out what caused the problem but restarting my computer corrected the issue.

The old "turning it off and back on again". A solid approach.
Glad to hear it's working again.

Three engineers are riding in a car...
One is a mechanical engineer, one is an electrical engineer, and one is a computer engineer.
The car breaks down and coasts to the side of the road.
"Hang on," says the mechanical engineer. "The problem is probably the engine, let me have a look at it and I'll have us on the road again in no time."
"Wait," says the electrical engineer. "The way it just stopped like that, I think it's the electrical system. Let me have a look and I'll get us going again in a minute or two."
"Hold on," says the computer engineer. "Why don't we all just get out of the car and get in again, and then see if it starts?"
