Bummer, looks like Edit in TextMate… is not working properly from Mail.app (or likely any WebView) since the Safari 3.1 install. The content of the WebView is not transferred to TextMate. The MacVim folks actually mailed me about it since they're using a modified version of Edit in TextMate… with MacVim. Anyway, I won't be able to look into the matter for a couple weeks in-case someone else wants to take a crack and send Allan a patch.

I have found that it still works for a selection. And yes, patches are received with open arms and kisses :) as I probably won’t look at this myself in any near future, despite being heavily dependent on the feature.

Actually, that's not the only problem w/Mail.app since the update. If your preferences are set to compose in plain text, try pasting in some text from another application -- the line breaks are lost (for some reason, this does not happen if your preferences are set to compose in RTF). Don't know if this is related to the "Edit in TextMate..." problem.

I’ve had disappearing newlines when composing plain text in Mail since Leopard. Not related to Edit in TextMate.

Thanks for the info. The problem didn't exist with Tiger until after the 2008-002 update (verified on 2 different machines running 10.4.11).

A work around: the text will be transferred if you select it first...
