I just updated to TextMate rc.14, which contains the overhauled file browser. I would really like if the "source list” style could be brought back.

Is it for the changed background color? And are you using (or planning to use) Dark Mode?
Next build will place an NSVisualEffectView behind the file browser which gives it a changed background color. This is in fact the side bar material that I believe is used by the normal source list mode, so background color is presumably the same.
