(upgraded from b9064 stable to) b9090 and when I expect TM2 to restart, it does not. Could interruption of installer by File Save dialog to save an unsaved document, cause this failure of auto-launch? Assumed/Expected TM2 to auto-launch.
Launching TM2 manually reopens previous windows with this in titlebar (see screenshot). The same string is in title bar whether a directory is open or single file.
thank you for really fantastic software!

Not sure if this will help, but if you hold down shift whilst checking for updates you'll be able to retry the upgrade

Looks like a corrupted .tm_properties file (either in the project or home folder). Quickly access these files using the gear dropdown in the file browser under "Preferences..."

good tip. thank u.
reverted back to b9064.
same issue exists. what to do?

my ~/.tm_properties seems ok. searched for more; none exist
Selecting "Preferences..." from the gear icon in the browser does nothing.
thanks for the dialog...
Hi,
If you read this: http://blog.macromates.com/2011/git-style-configuration/and this: http://blog.macromates.com/2011/format-strings/ then you can create ~/.tm_properties and prevent this from happening (if this makes no difference, then the offending .tm_properties file must then be in a directory above ~/).
Just to be sure you can always copy and paste your ~/.tm_properties file onto gist.github.com and send a link, and we can scan over it for errors!
I would suggest that you update to the most recent version of TM2 before you start though (alt+click on the "Check Now" button), as the older builds don't always pick up on the config changes straight away, and it is sometimes difficult to tell if edits are incorrect or just haven't been loaded from the file yet!
David.
P.S. I've noticed that there seems to be a a "default" file in the TextMate 2 app. Right click on TextMate 2 -> Show Package Contents -> Resources -> Defaults.tmproperties, which could also be incorrect (if the ~/.tm_properties fix doesn't work!)

If an offending config was in the tm_properties, then it did not manifest its offensiveness until after the upgrade to 9090. Not it is always showing this defect even on previous stable build.

Thank you for the suggestion: https://gist.github.com/2510661 It is, essentially, lifted from the example provided then modified a little. Note that it had not changed for weeks. It was same before and after the upgrade, in which the problem occurred.

I'm still parsing this.. :) I'll probably understand after a few more reads...

will check the health of this file. many thanks!
Cheers! AZ

Yes, I recognise that! All seems ok to me!

Sorry - reads like a stream of consciousness, rather than a helpful suggestion! What I meant to say was that when you change a .tm_properties file and then save it, it can take a short while before TextMate notices the updated file and applies the new settings (and I've noticed that some new settings are actually only applied to new files that are opened - don't worry, windowTitle isn't one of these!). The more recent builds of TM2 have got better at checking the .tm_properties files for changes and applying them more quickly, thus making it much easier to see if modifications are having the desired effect!
Holding down the "alt" or "option" key whilst pressing "Check Now" in the "Software Update" tab of the TM2 preferences, will check for the latest "dev" build, which is 9113 at the moment.
David.

many thanks for your help! in this file is the following:
exclude = "{*.{o,pyc},Icon\r,CVS,_darcs,_MTN,{arch},blib,*~.nib}"
the first of those items in the list is the string that is displayed in the title bar. what is the reason that this could be happening? :)
what is URL to get the first TM2? can I get a reminder? I will start over.
-AZ
exclude = "{*.{o,pyc},Icon\r,CVS,_darcs,**_MTN,{arch},blib,*~.nib}"
This is my Default.tmProperties file: https://gist.github.com/2514102, which looks at lot like yours.
David.
unfortunately, this string:
{{*.{o,pyc},Icon
continues to appear in the title bar of every TM2 window
It occurs in b9113.
