No, it isn't a gift, and we've been patient. We were promised a prerelease by the end of the year, and we would just like Macromates to keep their word.
It has come to the point now where other developers have created full blown replacements for the missing TextMate 2 (Sublime Text 2). We want TextMate 2 because we love thie product, and we're loyal -- but we're not feeling the love in return.

Just chill guys. Vote with your dollars, you have Sublime Text 2 now as a replacement. If TextMate 2 isn't released soon or even beta in the future then switch.
I'm waiting for TextMate 2 while using Sublime, once TextMate 2 comes out I'll decide between the two.
I'm mad at Marcomates for making even look at Sublime Text, but this is life.
Please stop this discussion because we all want version 2 of TextMate. I think Marcomates knows this.

TextMate was good enough that it kept me rolling code for years with no real improvements to the application. Sublime Text 2 was good enough to convince me to switch after only two months of use.
I'm sorry, but TextMate 2 needs to be something amazing for me to consider switching back. Blowing a(nother) deadline is not amazing.
Regards,

Has it been 6 months already? Wow how time flies when you don't have to read the semi-annual "Where is TM2?" thread. Please, if it bothers you all so much then speak with your wallet and go elsewhere to buy your holy grail text editor. This list won't miss you or this recurring thread.
If you won't go anywhere else because the alternatives don't measure up then be thankful that you're still using the best editor out there.

I agree. If you like Sublime Text 2, go forth and use it. I won't use it.

I agree again. TM is still a very good editor and one of the best.
