You could install WebDav on the server and then you'll be able to
mount the remote filesystem in Finder. I do that pretty regularly.
I'm not 100% certain if the server in question is behind a firewall or
not. If it was, it could safely serve up WebDav (or Samba), but if it
is a publicly accessible server, I'm not sure how securely WebDave can
