hello all - question: why would TM being using 25-35% of my CPU when it is sitting in the background with *no documents* even open?!? see screen shot. cheers, bennett

In the top tool bar, hit ‘Sample Process’ that will show what it is actually doing.
Clearly you are seeing abnormal behavior, so there is no general answer to your question.
