Is there a compelling reason to use cmd-opt-arrows for tab shifting? Safari uses Cmd-Shift-Arrow...if there's no reason to stay with the current setting, I request that TextMate match Safari. -- (-, /\ / / //

i also would llike to see that textmate does it like safari because desktop manager by default uses alt-opt-arrow. so when i use desktop manager (which is all the time) i cant switch tabs in textmate, please change this. :) (or at least add a preference to change it) thanks.

As the OP mentioned (in his followup), cmd-shift arrow left/right is used to select to begin/end of line. So this is definitely not going to be the default keys ;)

You can change any application's menu item key equivalent through System Preferences → Keyboard & Mouse → Keyboard Shortcuts.
While this is not as handy as an in-app editor, this is what I currently recommend. An easier alternative is the Menu Master haxie [1].
Kind regards Allan

I personally always expect Cmd-Shift-Arrow to select from current cursor position to wherever Cmd-Arrow would take the cursor. I use Safari on a daily basis but am continuously confused whenever I'm editing text in it precisely because of that shortcut.
I'm on this bandwagon too. I was confused @ first, and ended up re-mapping Desktop Manager to a different key combo.. but it would be nice to either customize TM, or have it mimic safari.
