After a quick search I can't seem to figure out how to do column typing? How do I do it like in the video on macromates.com?
Sorry for the stupid question! :-)
Hold down option while you drag up / down / across .. you'll get the box hiliting and typing-features you're after.

Or make a selection with the keyboard (hold shift and go up or down) and when you're done, press option once and a column edit is started at the column location you were in first.
