Can one add Project files <.tmproj> to the Project Drawer, so as to be able to quickly link/open other projects?

Yes, but you'll need to do two things:
1) go to Preferences / Advanced / Folder References and remove “|.*.tmproj$” from the File Patern (otherwise they won't show up), 2) add a .tmproj file to the project drawer (using drag'n'drop) and control/right click it (or use the gear/action button) and select »Treat files with “.tmproj” extension as binary«.
After these steps, you should be able to add and later double click the .tmproj files to open the corresponding projects.
