In TM1 "Open Recent" would not collect any file opened from the project viewer. I found that more useful, as it accumulated all my projects over time while in TM2 it has all the useless individual file entries.
And as others mentioned:
- I'd rather have single-click than double-click to open a file - Closing the last tab should not close the window
Not seen this mentioned: how do you add a new file to a given folder? "New File" is missing from the context menu...

I second that, all other apps Mail, Finder, Xcode require single click in sidebar to open stuff. (However TM2 file browser doesn't look like sidebar, but more like file browser, then double-click to open may be justified)
- Closing the last tab should not close the window
Yeah, would be cool if TM2 would close the window only if there's no file browser, otherwise keep the window open.

I did New tab then save Saves into current folder.
Regards,
You can single click on the icon before the file name to open the file.
++ for: closing last tab should not close TM2

I made it put everything in the recent menu because I got so tired of receiving regular bug reports for 1.x about “broken recent menu”.
It shouldn’t be a problem to exclude stuff opened via file browser.

I rarely, if ever, use the open recent menu within TextMate but use it all the time via LaunchBar to open up a project (aka folder) so the TM1 way is definitely preferable to the TM2 way.
