I noticed in todays update of TextMate, JEG II has added support in the ruby bundle for using Mauricio Fernandez' fast-ri for ^H.
Kewl!
Just wanted to note that Mauricio recommends installing fast-ri from the source tarball rather than as a gem for the best possible performance:

I wasn't fully satisfied with the behaviour of the "LaTeX symbol based on word" of the LaTeX Bundle, so I have created a small extension to the LaTeX bundle to satisfy my LaTeX writing style and habits.
The idea is that one types a key or a string of character and then a predefined key and the input is transformed into a latex symbol. The command is activated by ! (exclamation mark).
So for example
a! produces \alpha \alphab! produces \alpha\beta a!b! produces \alpha\beta |=! produces \models
and so on. I have created this extension for myself, but if somebody wants to play and experiment with it, the bundle is available at

and the documentation at
