Is it just me who hates the new tabs in Textmate 2?
The new tabs are:
1. Black on dark grey, which makes it hard to read the name of the file. 2. The click area for the tabs are also much smaller. 3. It starts from the top of the file browser.
Images are attached for comparison (new tabs.png and old tabs.png). The old tabs, in comparison:
1. Black on light grey, much easier to read. 2. The click are for the tabs are much larger. 3. Starts at the top of the editor.
Anyway, I photoshopped something up, for your consideration, Allan. It's the new Textmate with the old tabs (please don't read the bad code).

I agree that 1 & 2 are less lovable than the tabs in 1.5
3. It starts from the top of the file browser.
Here I prefer what TM2 does, as someone who often has more tabs open than will 'fit' I think TM2 is rright in buying more horizontal space for the tabs.
Once TM2 gets a Lion full screen mode, it would be nice to have black (text) on white background tabs again: they will be invisible when you blow the screen open, and can still move from tab to tab with cmd-shift-right/left etc, so being white won’t destroy the contrast field with the (dark) backgrounds that most of us use for editing t

The tabs are constructed “declaratively” using TextMate.app/Contents/Frameworks/OakAppKit.framework/Resources/TabBar.plist because we know people have different opinions about how things should look.
While some visual improvements are planned during the alpha, it’s probably not what I’ll spend most of the time on.
