To commands that I think would be awesome (since the last time I made a request my project drawer got all colorful :0) has anyone attempted to match the functionality of markupmaker (http://www.accessify.com/tools-and-wizards/developer-tools/markup- maker/) as a textmate command? -- my head would explode if somebody had that handy (seriously EXPLODE!)

That should be pretty easy. Should we race to see who gets this done first? ;)
Seriously though. I could probly do this for us all pretty fast if I didn't have 2 projects due tonight.

Alternatively, have you seen HAML [1] ? That might be a bit more robust and flexible for you, and you could implement the parser with just a simple tmCommand and the existing script from that site.

Looks like we already have a HAML bundle. http://macromates.com/svn/Bundles/trunk/Bundles/Ruby%20Haml.tmbundle/
Doesn't have a parser command in there yet, but I'm sure someone could add one right fast.

Awesome! At this rate I'm going to develop a taste for beer by tomorrow, and be in AA by the weekend.
I wish I had TextMate back in 1996. And Ruby, and CSS and WebKit and jetpacks. Oh, and a million dollars and a pony. Is a Dwarf Equestrian temporal vortex too much to ask?!
