pgEdit supports PostgreSQL specific syntax coloring (e.g. dollar quoting), SQL execution, context specific help, completion, and recognition of SQL language constructs (tables, functions, triggers, etc.). pgEdit uses psql for executing SQL and takes advantage of many psql features.
