My project drawer has started opening on the right hand side of my window, and I prefer it on the left. How can I switch it back?
Thanks
Ed

Hide the project drawer, then move the Textmate window to the right hand edge of your screen. Show the drawer again, and it will open in the space on the left hand side.
Matt.
Wonderful, thanks. That worked.

There might be another way, but that works for me.

This happens to me quasi-frequently and the process above is a bit of a pain. I would love a hidden option to force the drawer to always open on the side I prefer...

The last time I remember this coming up on the list, I seem to remember Allan saying he has no control over the side the drawer comes out. It's all controlled by OS X.

It is possible, code-wise, to force a drawer to one side, but that removes the ability for it to show up on the other side entirely, and I'm sure there are people who want it on the right side. So that's not an option.

Sorry to go "off topic", but in the interest in aiding at least those who find the above rant problem particularly acute in Apple Mail (as I have), there is a solution.
It can be found here:

Hope that helps at least some of you. It keeps my mouth from spewing occasional unspeakables (at least for Mail).

Hi,
Not to hijack the thread, but it's related ...
I just wanted to point out that in the Omni* applications, option- clicking on the "show drawer" buttons (in some toolbar) makes an open drawer alternate between which side it's on.
So, for example, if the drawer is open on the left and you hit option- click on the "Show Drawer" button, it shoots it over to the right, and vice versa.
Maybe this is something that could be considered for TextMate, although we only have a menu-item ... perhaps if you hold down option and click on the View > __ Project Drawer option it could shoot it to the right or left.
Of course it still wouldn't be immediately obvious to the user and one might never find it on their own, so this question will still always come up, but it would be useful once you know it's there :-)
... if it's not too hard to do, I think it could be helpful.
Thanks, -steve
At that point, wouldn't it be easier to put a preference in that says "Open Project Drawer On: left/right"
....

Not for me because I often use two projects opened side by side, one with the drawer on the left, the other with the drawer on the right. Wide screen rules.

Yeah .. it's the switch hitting from left to right is where the goodness comes in.
