Can you de-halloween our textmates now please ;)
It was cool for a while, not it's distracting.... (not to be a dick or anything)
... alternatively, can we keep it forever? :) It startled the hell out of me when it happened but I find it rather endearing. ;)

I think it'd be nice to have a check box in prefs to turn on halloween fun. Or maybe make it a keyboard shortcut easter egg?

Boo. Kudos to the developers for trying to shine a little fun into an everyday event like using a text editor.

It was fun....
Just fact of the matter is I have a ton of work to do now and it's distracting...
:) Thanks for putting it back

it's just a theme of the window - you have a pull-down-list on the top right to change it.

Duh. Thanks!

I loved the Halloween edition and I am now looking forward to all future fun editions. Allan, please don't listen to anyone who objected to this! When I showed it to my students their 100% reaction was, "I'm going to have to get a Mac, aren't I? I just don't have fun on Windows." It was not distracting to me at all.

I couldn't agree more. I think it shows a level of pride from the development team that is to be envied by projects everywhere.
Look out folks, we're getting work done *and* having a little fun! It's a world gone mad.

Thirded. Top fun, thanks Allan.
Like the others said... there's nothing wrong with adding a little fun to an app. Sorry to those of you who are so easily distracted.
Peace, Mike

I like the new Halloween edition too. The dock icon is my favorite.
P.S. This is my first time on the list, so hello everyone.

Well, I agree. Yesterday I gave a talk. After my talk I asked the students whether there are questions. The first question was about TextMate's icon ;)
Thanks Allan,
Hans

Thanks again all for the great feedback!

Yeah, but some of us hate Halloween. Now Thanksgiving I can get behind, what with all of the delicious turkey and potatoes and dressing and pies ... oh my, yes ... the pies...
Sure, it's a bit Americocentric, but I am thankful for TextMate. And pie.

Your turkey-eating offends my vegetarian sensibilities! How dare you propose a butcher-fest-themed TextMate! Death to carnivores!!1!1

Can't we stop bickering and settle on a really offensive theme? Something like puppies in jackboots murdering kittens while singing Michael Bolton ballads?

I can get behind that, as long as you eat what you kill.
