I use the iClip multiple clipboard thingmy.
If I copy some text to iClip from outside TextMate then switch to TextMate the copied text in iClip duplicates.
I've never seen this with any other app.
Could be something odd about iClip of course :)

The way TextMate uses the clipboard is a bit more complex than just store/retrieve data, since it has its own history and tries to intermix third party copying into this history.
The heuristic used will be better in next major update, that might solve this compatibility issue.
