A friend of mine started getting some weird bug not so long ago.
Within the Find dialog text boxes at some point stop rendering carets and stop responding visually to keyboard input. But every time you click the “Find” button content within those text boxes magically updates. The only way to fix this is to restart TextMate. Closing/reopening Find dialog doesn’t help.
He made a video that shows this behavior https://www.dropbox.com/s/0hkhkrcqtzyi6ho/tm.search.bug.mov?dl=0
OS X 10.9 TextMate version 2.0-beta.6.8
I've seen this semi-regularly too, and I had it just yesterday.
The earliest bug report I can find is from September (for alpha.9561) It's very difficult to reproduce on demand, but I think here is definitely a bug somewhere

I have seen the same behavior for two other window types yet I have had zero bug reports about this from 10.10 users (but many from 10.9 users), so considering that we have >80% on 10.10, I’m convinced it’s a 10.9 issue (TextMate has adopted auto-layout, which had serious issues until 10.8, and I’m guessing this one is a less serious issue also caused by TextMate’s “quick” adoption of auto-layout).
Sorry Allan, I had tried to find the email where I originally reported this but couldn't find it (when I replied earlier)
You are quite right, your reply at the time is that it appears to be something odd related to OSX 10.9
I agree thats most likely the case
