One of the nice features of iTerm and Aqua-Emacs is that selecting text copies into the paste-buffer, and clicking the middle mouse button pastes in text from the buffer, as with X11 programs. (That, and focus-follows-mouse are the two features I miss most from other unix operating systems).
Is there a way to do this in TextMate, and if not, is there any chance it might one day be implemented as an optional feature?

Pretty unlikely I will add an option specifically for that (I won’t rule out that it will be possible via mouse gestures in the future though) -- but if you know a bit of Cocoa, you can do this either as a plug-in or as a system-wide input manager, which adds the behavior to all your applications. That seems like a better solution.
