Howdy,
I'm evaluating build r790 and chose to create the "mate" link in ~/Applications, which is already in my path when I open Terminal.app.
However, TextMate somehow requested admin privileges; I _cancelled_ and I got back an error message: "Creating the link “/bin/mate” failed with the following reason: Permission denied".
Am I expecting the wrong thing?
Thanks,
the link is not created in ~/Applications, but in /bin as that path is already in the PATH var of the terminal, this requires root or admin rights, meaning, that you were not allowed to cancel the password request.

No, you can choose where the link is created (default is ~/bin).
I just tried to create it in ~/Applications and it doesn't prompt me for my password.
