TM with LaTeX fails to launch skim or preview. TM works only with "view in Texmate".
I have the same problem with a macbook and an imac intel 10.6.2

OK, can you be a little more specific about the failure mode? Does the ⌘R command terminate or just spin forever? Sometimes when Skim.app updates, Textmate will tell it to open a pdf after you compile, but the operating system will show that dialog which says “Skim.app is an application downloaded from the internet, are you sure you want to run it?”. But this dialog comes up in the background and skim seems to hang, and the document never appears.

With Preview, the icon of preview is animated but preview don't launch (sorry for my english)

Can you quit Skim.app and launch it by itself to make sure that that dialog I mentioned earlier doesn't come up?

I have been experiencing the same problem. The ⌘R command doesn't terminate it just spins forever, apparently at the point where it is calling Skim. On my system this only happens if Skim is not already launched. It works fine if Skim is already open.

I'm only able to reproduce the first time I typeset + view a document after installing a new version of Skim and _only_ if the new version hasn't bee previously opened. Even if you launch and close Skim.app after installing a new version, you still experience the stall?

No Problem here if Texshop or Preview or Skim are open before Command-R and the Latex Official.
Worse problem : imposible now to open Texshop or Preview or Skim from the Dock
Texshop or Preview or Skim
The problem is not only with Skim but with Preview with TexShop ( why Adobe Reader is not in the list ?)
I re-install the new version after cleaning (without LateX2, without plug-ins)
and the problem is here with Skim and others.
The only possibility is to work with the TextMate's viewer.

Everything works fine now, with both official Latex and Latex 2 installed, meaning: when I typeset a file, I'm given the choice between Latex 1 and 2, whatever choice I make will open the proper viewer (TexShop for Latex 1, and Skim obviously for 2), no stalling. Rebooting is not enough, Safe Reboot is enough but ... there is a new problem

TM_INTERACTIVE_INPUT_DISABLED=true is not enough the problem re-appears on the macbook. I try an old solution : I remove tm_interactive_input.dylib from textmate.
1) pdfs are displayed with skim or preview 2) The compilation is more speedy 3) This problem is not fixed

Alex did an update to the LaTeX bundle which disables interactive input: http://github.com/lasersox/latex.tmbundle/commit/64c2a4a18bda6834f4a46668fb7...
It might be the variable hasn’t got the expected effect, it wouldn’t be the first time something like that has happened, will look into that.

Thanks but the problem arrives with the two Bundles LaTeX and LateX2 ! ( for me) I don't know for other users !

I have the same Skim-launching problem: if it's already running, the Latex bundle finds it fine; otherwise it just bounces in the dock.
If I "force quit" and restart, I get the following error from the original attempt in the TM console:

I seem to recall that this is a longstanding problem, and possibly related to some google tool?

I'm not always having a problem getting Skim to load. I only see the delay after I install a *new* version of Skim (or delete Skim and reinstall from the internet). I don't use TeXShop at all, and I'm not having any problems with Preview.

Not sure, seems like it might be a problem with tm_interactive_input.dylib.

This isn’t entirely clear to me.
It sounds like the included LaTeX bundle works for you, but not the fork by Alex Ross¹.
We can however explain the opposite.

Any news on this? I run into the same issue. The software that I use:
Mac OS X 10.6.3, TextMate 1.5.9 (1510), and Skim 1.3.6 (54).
If Skim is running already, Skim will show the rendered document. However, if TextMate starts Skim, Skim will stall (bouncing dock icon).

The problem is with the interactive input library we inject into commands spawned by (some) TextMate commands.
There is a compatibility problem on Snow Leopard — the functionality it offers is however pretty awesome, so we are running with it “enabled by default”.
You can disable it, as you probably already know. We have not obtained new info to workaround the Skim problem since the issue was last brought up.
We could perhaps just disable interactive input for the LaTeX bundle, Alex?

I checked the code¹ and that is the variable to disable it.
Alternatively remove the library, use ⌃R on this line in a TextMate document:
mv "$TM_SUPPORT_PATH/lib/tm_interactive_input.dylib"{,-disabled}

While setting that variable did not help, renaming the library file helped. What is the side effect of moving this file?

I installed Latex 2 in ~/Library/Application Support/TextMate/ and removed the Latex bundle from TextMate (Applications/TextMate/Contents/SharedSupport/Bundles). I have the same software you mention and do not experience the problem anymore. Skim will start correctly if I use Command-R or Control-Command-R. Bibliography and index are properly set in the run.
TexShop (the preference I set for viewing) will also start correctly if I use Control-Command-W for "Watch Document". But Command-R or Control-Command-R trigger Skim and only Skim. I would prefer TexShop, but that's another matter. I'm too inexperienced to tinker with that. If someone can offer help with that, I'd be grateful. I prefer TexShop because I can then switch to that editor for certain types of editing jobs requiring sync.
