I edit a lot of files via ftp on a web server running on XServe with Mac OS X Server.
It would be extremely useful to save on the XServe a .tmproj project of TM containing all files of my web site and access only this project file in remote via ftp with Transmit or Fugu (or maybe via TM directly?) instead open every single file.
There was a thread about this earlier. I do the exact thing and I suggest you use Interarchy; you can create SFTP/FTP disks on your local computer which get mirrored automatically.

Tommaso,
Is there any way they could put up a webdav server? That way you could access the files via finder just like your local files (well, only a bit slower).
Just an idea how you could solve your problem right now.
