I've got a rough cut at python support bundle[1]. It includes syntax and three snippets: klass, def and deff. The snippets rely on a de facto python standard of 4-spaces for indentation. I'll keep making minor updates, but feel free to use it in the future TextMate releases.
The editor is rather neat so far. Keep up the good work.

I have also implemented the start for a python bundle. I've only focused on the syntax definition for the moment.
It is available at: http://www.imaginaryfriend.org/play_2fTextMate_20extensions
I would love feedback so please let me know if you use it.
Philip - perhaps we can compare notes and see it it worth combining the two into a single version?
Thanks, D
