I have installed the "Edit in Textmate" bundle, with apparent success, except that when I invoke the function, either through the hotkey combination or by selecting the item from the edit menu in Safari, nothing happens. I simply get the OS X warning sound. Looking in the console I see the following:
2007-07-07 01:17:38.606 TextMate[9345] Can't open input server /Users/chris/Library/InputManagers/Edit in TextMate
Not sure what this is all about, since this link does actually exist, and links to the folder in /Applications/TextMate.app/Contents/Resources. Any idea how to get this working?
Thanks in advance.

Which version of Safari do you use? WebKit Nightly or Safari 3 Beta by any chance? In those versions it doesn't work afaik

It doesnt work in any of my browsers: Safari 3, OmniWeb, Camino.
And which version of Safari and now OmniWeb did you try?
I don’t think it ever worked with Camino. Latest build (edge) of TM has an update which works for latest OW 5.6 and *may* work for Safari.

Thanks, the update works, both in OW 5.6 and the Safari 3 beta. Life is suddenly easy again.
This is not truly related to the original message, but why the change from Control-Command-E to Option-Command-Z for Edit in TextMate in Revision 1401? I don't understand the section in the Release Notes that covers this.
That was a mistake -- *but* with latest WebKit ⌃⌘E does *not* work, at least not in OmniWeb and WebKit.app, so I locally changed it here to ⌥⌘Z to test (basically all but ⌃⌘E works), somehow that ended up in the build.
I’ll do a new build shortly. For those who use non-beta Safari or non-preview OW there shouldn’t be a problem with the old key.

Thanks for the quick response. I installed Revision 1405 this morning, and Ctl-Cmd-E is back working again.
For what it's worth, I *am* using the non-beta Safari, Version 2.0.4 (419.3)--mainly because I can't imagine life without Edit in TextMate--and the old key *didn't* work with TM Revision 1401, only Opt-Cmd-Z worked.
