I don't know when it happens, but it seems to just kick in after a while. Anyway, some keyboard shurtcuts stop to work, and when I go in and try to reassign them just to see what happens, a "cirlce" is inserted behind the shortcut, a picture will say more than I ever can explain. http://hem.bredband.net/perihelion/textmate.png
it seems my keyboard sends in this very weird thing, which only affects textmate. I have version 1.17beta (the latest beta released a while back, not the latest latest, and I do nothing cvs fancy or anything, I download from the main page every once in a while). I run tiger 10.4.2, on a powerbook, but I have an old "pc" ps/2 type keyboard hooked up through a ps2->usb converter. Since you'll probably ask me this, I'm gonna try with the built in powerbook keyboard now.
The powerbook keyboard seems not affected, and when I pull out and replace the usb cable it seems the problem disappears. Interesting to note is also that <div></div>[enter] does not produce <div> | </div> but instead <div> </div>
so in the end, I guess it's related to my converter somehow, but now you all know for the future :)

That circle would indicate that the numeric key pad modifier is down -- the Mac keyboard has no such thing, but sends the modifier with (some) of the numeric key pad keys (and the movement keys), and I try to circle these.
Is there a toggle on your USB keyboard? if so, the problem is likely just then, that the toggle is pressed.
Actually I do handle this better in recent builds [1], by ignoring the modifier when the pressed key has it, but not when the required key has it. I.e. setting an action to num pad 1 will only work for the num pad 1 key, but setting it to 1 will work with both the 1 key and the num pad 1 key.
If you do have the toggle on yuor keyboard, I'd like to know if it does work better for recent builds (which you can downlaod w/o needing to do anything fancy besides replacing TextMate.app).

I usually don't like to live on the complete bleeding edge, so that's why I wait until "official" releases. But I "installed" the new version. I don't have a toggle, however, sometimes all the numlock+capslock +scrolllock keys light up for a second and the keyboard won't accept input, I take it that's when stuff goes bad. So I'll let you know if it seems better, it's just a matter of waiting a while and see.

I think my keyboard just pulled that little blinking stunt I talked about earlier, but I have no trouble no, indicating that the problem may very well be solved! I'll obviously mention any other changes to this state of bliss :)

This little bug we discussed some while back is unfortunately still in effect, though it kicks in quite rarely and is easily fixed (by un +re-plugging the keyboard)
