Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem like Carsten wrote.
But I am on the latest version of TextMate, Skim and OS X, but the problem still occurs.
OS X: 10.6.3 TM: Version 1.5.9 (1589) Skim: Version 1.3.5 (53)
Does anybody have a suggestion for me? Thank you very much!!!
greetings pooz

Happens to me as well, in most (all?) cases the problem appears when Skim was not opened yet. In this case Skim starts and becomes unresponsive after a while without displaying the document. The pdf itself, however, is created. If I open that manually in Skim and then invoke command+R, changes made to the LaTeX document are updated in Skim without any problem.
Hi,
For me the problem went way when I started using Alex Ross' Latex2 Bundle (http://github.com/lasersox/latex.tmbundle) for typesetting.

Hi and thanks,
are there any significant changes to the built-in Latex-Bundle? Will Latex2 have any influences on the way Latex-Typesetting is done? Or will the same Latex-Compiler executed?

Usually you shouldn't notice any big differences as the used compilers are the same (as least as I understand it). Some "pre-processing" might be a little bit different though, i.e. I had problems compiling some documents of my co-workers who use a very strange ps-to-pdf-workflow. But when you install the LaTeX2-Bundle additionally to the original one, you can always switch back and forth between the right typesetting for a given document.
Bye,
Carsten

Hi
I use also the LaTeX bundle and Skim as my viewer. Skim becomes unresponsive but only with TM > 1510, skim and latex bundle
With TM 1.5.9 (1589), it's possible to use Skim but only with Latex2
With preview, TM 1589 and the latex bundle works fine.

Just for the records, I am also using TM 1589.

Hi all
I just wanted to confirm that the very same problem exists on my machine. I'm using the same versions of all applications as pooz. I'm using the workaround proposed by Carsten, that is starting Skim before compiling the LaTeX source. It's not pretty, but it works.
Best regards, Christian
