Hi all, I have the following line and nothing else in ~/.tm_properties :
softWrap = false
However, when I launch TM2 (with no documents previously open in the workspace), it shows an untitled document with Soft Wrap enabled, set to wrap at the window edge. Is that supposed to happen? If it is supposed to happen, is there some other way to have soft wrap turned off by default? Thanks!

The default properties file enable soft wrap for ‘[ text ]’. This is more specific than a global setting and thus wins.
So add ‘[ text ]’ to ~/.tm_properties above your setting and it works (as your file is “more local” than the default).

Sure enough! Thanks for explaining; I didn't know about the global settings file at /Applications/TextMate.app/Contents/Resources/Default.tmProperties.
