I started using Fugu with this release. Connecting locally to my server and editing using TM working fine.
Just so you know, rc2 is out now. It has fixed some problems that rc1 had.

With this new release, TextMate doesn't open at all on my machine. (BBEdit works). On 8 déc. 04, at 07:59, Carl Forde wrote:

According to Dominique Peretti:

Works fine here...
Absolutely.

Are you sure you got 1.02b10 and not 1.02b9 ?

Using Fugu 1.1.1rc2 alongside TextMate 1.02b10 simply doesnt work for me either. TxM's name appears in the external editor list in Fugu's prefs but without it's icon. Fugu defaults to BBEdit even with TxM's name selected in the prefs.

I suspect that the problem is, that Fugu cannot locate TextMate.
If it's using Launch Services, it may actually be a LS problem (bas caches after updating TM) -- try in Finder to navigate to the folder which contain TextMate and start it from there (this should update the LS caches) then re-start and try Fugu.
Nope, still no TextMate. And no useful console messages.
I'll inform Andrew.

Okay, you may also try to delete (requires admin privileges): /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.*
You should restart afterwards, then do the thing about locating TextMate in Finder and starting it, and then start Fugu.
Unfortunately I haven't got real insight into how Launch Services work, but I have experienced similar things with applications not being found by Finder for file type associations or the open shell command not finding certain apps -- it does seem to happen when applications gets replaced "often" (as would be the case for TextMate).
I'll inform Andrew.
I'm cc'ing fugu@umich.edu for this letter in case it's useful for him.

IIRC, there's a way to inform LaunchServices that the database needs to be updated, and with what it should be updated with. You could run that at the startup of TextMate (or as a post-install script if you start using an installer).
Best, Eric
Deleting the Launch Services cache worked, great!
There is still an issue with saving the opened document though, it doesn't seem to save to the server.
