I suggest you the jQuery group on Google Groups, they always answers me in a few times and were really useful in learning from them. You can also subscribe to it.

The #mootools IRC channel is pretty helpful. But obviously pretty MooTools centric ;) You might try the #jquery channel, but I've never been in there, so I'm not sure what it's like.
