Dear all,
here is my new suggestion to type Japanese, Chinese within TM.
- press apple+shift+i to invoke the dialog (delete the old inputCJK in beforehand) - activate Kotoeri or whatever - type as usual, choose kanji etc. with space and return - if you once again RETURN the text is inserted - press ESCAPE to dismiss
Comments?
TODO: 1) Find a way to open the dialog at the caret position. 2) Don't display the dialog header. Only the textfield (?) 3) to invoke the dialog with a specific input method.
Any hints?
Many thanks in advance
Hans

Hello from Japan (again),
I typed return key, but the text is not going to be inserted. Instead, the return key makes a new line and cursor moves the first of the new line (just like any text editors). I tried enter key, to no avail.
A better solution would be ⌘-Return to insert the text because some users may want to type more than one paragraph of CJK texts.
I also fiddle with changing the size of the window. IMHO, the space with "Write up here..." would be removed. In addition, the text field and the title bar should be fixed-length.
Aside from these, this command is awesome.

Stop!
You are still using the 'old' inputCJK.
The new one is only a small window containing a single TextField without any buttons etc. Delete the old one and install the version I sent today. And of course you have to use TM cutting edge version 1.5.4 (1324)!

Sorry. You changed the (suggested) keybindings for your command. I *had* both and invoked the old one.
Reaction. It workds as you tell. Typing longer than the width of the window may need to be considered. Making the text filed bigger automatically when the 1st line is filled would be nice.
But, I'm assuming that your intent is to insert *very short portion of CJK text* not a paragraph length, so my suggestion won't reflect your aim.

You're right. My humble aim is it to 'clone' the behavior of Kotoeri. I tried to run the inputCJK command in a while loop. It works, but I cannot find a way to write a content of a bash variable back to TM while running this command. TM 'only' offers a way to write something back if the command was canceled.
Cheers,
