I recently started using TM again to work on a Rails project and upgraded form 1.5.7 to 1.5.9 (1510) on 10.6.4. Now the program is crashing several times a day. I am working with projects and git scm enabled. Other than that nothing special or unusual.
I saw a post here talking about a later version than 1510 but I can't seem to find out how to download that or any other version than the this one. I am currently running 1.5.7 and that seems to be stable if out of date.
I am not sure what is triggering the problem. It may be related to selecting files from from the project drawer but I'm not certain and it only started happening after upgrading to 1.5.9. This was initially happening on 10.5 so I finally upgraded to 10.6.4 in hopes that it would fix it but it is still crashing.
Any tips or assistance will be appreciated. This is the only editor that has gotten me away from emacs. ;-)

I assume this means you are using the ProjectPlus plug-in. Disable the SCM badges, as there have been many similar crash reports from users of this plug-in (when the badges are enabled).
Thanks I will try this. Although I like the badges, unfortunately I also find that they are not updated reliably. I will let you know if this works better over the next week.
tks, louie

A long time ago I sent in a patch, but that never made it into PP. I work with TM, PP and git all day, and do not have any crashes, so maybe that patch may help folks. I'll attach it below.
Gerd
Thanks Gerd, I will try this also.

Hi Gerd- (or anyone)
I applied my patch to Ciaran's projectplus, but Xcode gives me an error that GCC 4.2 isn't compatible with the 10.4SDK.
Any advice on whether I should "downgrade" the compiler to be compatible with 10.4u SDK, or should "upgrade" the SDK to 10.6, or another that's compatible with GCC 4.2?
Thanks!
Charles
I saw Gerd is online, so I thought I'd: BUMP!

You know, I filed that issue, but I had almost forgotten about it because I haven't seen it in a while. (And I use Git-based projects a lot these days.) I think what made it stop crashing was to turn off the status flags for Git. They weren't right half the time anyway.
Of course we'd like to see it fixed, but it's a decent workaround in the meantime.
Yes this looks like the same problem.
I have had no crashes since turning off the SCM badges in project+.

Don't try to tell me something is important to you if the whole of your “support” entails getting Congress to force *others* to spend time and money on it.
