Is there a less expensive solution to creating a pdf with footers from markdown other than Prince? Thank you.
For those who don't know what Prince is, I found it:
Apparently a single-user license is $349. OUCH!
Lloyd, I just found something called pandoc, which can read markdown and write LaTeX. I haven't tested it yet, but if it works properly you should be able to generate a LaTeX document from your markdown and then render that to PDF. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about footers with markdown. Worst case you could post-process the LaTeX document to include the footers you want. Or perhaps pandoc will let you modify the LaTeX document preamble to include a custom package which provides your footers?

It appears pandoc will let you insert whatever you want before/after the \begin{document} or before the \end{document}, so you can do your footers that way. It also supports footnotes in Markdown.
Only problem is it requires GHC, which is like a 6 hour compile ;)
