I'm on this bandwagon too. I was confused @ first, and ended up re-mapping Desktop Manager to a different key combo.. but it would be nice to either customize TM, or have it mimic safari.

I personally always expect Cmd-Shift-Arrow to select from current cursor position to wherever Cmd-Arrow would take the cursor. I use Safari on a daily basis but am continuously confused whenever I'm editing text in it precisely because of that shortcut.
