There is a concerted effort to make bundles compatible with 2.0; not something you would expect to see if Avian was far off.

Informal conversation between friends on IRC is not a “statement” — though even if it was, what I said yesterday is not at all similar to what I said on IRC. On IRC I talked about “preview to close friends” and stressed that beta is still distant future.
Yesterday was the first time I put a release date on a public build of 2.0.
