Brad,
Well my proposal was to add a Latex watch function that indeed didn't use the Robin Houston's one (so it's independent from him). Latexmk has an option to do the same thing (latexmk -pvc), but a bit differently to the way Robin Houston's bundle does it (as far as I understood from the mailing list, it has its drawbacks, like speed, but its advantages, like the fact it recognises included files like graphics - anything that is encountered in the log file actually).
So my wish would be that the LaTeX bundle gives a choice for which watch mode to use. Would that seem interesting to you? I don't really know how latexmk -pvc works, so I don't think I couldn't add the feature (easily at least, but I could still RTFM of course).

enas,
Robin Houston wrote the Latex Watch bundle and I added to the Latex bundle. Occasionally I get patches from Robin and others that I apply to keep it up to date. Whether a feature like this gets added will depend on whether Robin has the time and inclination to add the feature. Or as we say, patches are always welcome.

Hi,
I reiterate my question: is there any chance to see a LaTeX watch function using latexmk included in the LaTeX bundle? I think that would be great.
Cheers,

Hi all,
This issue has already been discussed in the lists, but I didn't
find any
conclusive answer. Would it be possible to add in the LaTeX bundle
the
option to watch a latex file with latexmk (ie with the -pvc
option)? I
kind of understood the advantages of the Watch bundle (mainly
speed?) but
still want latexmk to do the job for me (to update cross-
references and
included documents like figures).
For the moment, I am using http://www.nabble.com/LaTeX-Watch-td9730030.html#a9814889 Martin's
tip ,
but I would like a better integration (like stopping watching),
and anyway
think it would be worth being included in the standard LaTeX bundle.
