I'm on Max OS X 10.6.8 as well, if that helps.
If running them side by side, do they automatically have separate Application Support folders in ~/ & / & separate preferences files?
(I backed up my TxMt v.1 support & preference folders & files last night & installed v.2 but restored them this morning as I've work to do).
