Yup, it seems like it was an Apple Update Issue: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/02/16/apple_update_perl_breakage/ http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8992556#8992556
I ended up working around it, but keep your eyes out if you have a Mac where you have updated/customized your perl. Especially if you updated with cpan.
