That's because the source field is not editable. The source to the Edit In TextMate bundle is in the TextMate svn repository - go look at it. I bet you'll find a line checking the editable status of the text field - disable that line.
Or install an input manager like Safari Stand that let's you edit the source and apply changes to the site. Can come in handy sometimes.
