Pepper was great until the developer sort of had a nuclear meltdown. Luckily I got to re-use the Alpha also in its OS9 days was really happening.
And don't forget Subethedit... that's the one other text editor I still use, due to the networking thing. But sometimes I cheat and use TM services to edit in there.
TM has a nice little community around it and a responsive and talented developer. As long as we don't let it go to our heads, we can keep borrowing and improving on the cool things from other editors...
