I too have issues with iTerm. I used to use it all the time, but ended up switching back to Terminal.app after lots of frustration with iTerm. Tabs would be nice, but i rather find Terminal.app sufficient for now.

Hmm it works for me, although its system is rather bizzare and hard to figure out as for where to change what. But for me it has a few MUST features over Terminal: It sends all keys, including especially PgUp/PgDn and it has tabs :-).
As for leaks, I never leave mine up too long.
