Show project drawer appears to be broken. I can hide the project drawer, but once it's hidden I can't show it again. This occurs with existing and new projects. Ed Wong

Working with/Deleting empty space in documents ?? Please help !

I'm not sure what the correct definition for this is, but here is what I am trying to do: I am trying to remove (delete) the empty space or move the cursor to the beginning of the next HTML tag in an existing HTML document, that sort of looks like the examples below: With the cursor immediately after the first tag: By pressing Alt-Shift-del (not backspace) deletes all space up until the text "this" in Code Example A:, but in Example B: we delete only one line of text, and has to press it twice, in Example C: we end up deleting all the space including the first < in <code> With the cursor immediately after the end of the paragraph text block ('text'/'tag'): By pressing Alt-Shift-del here, deletes as above, but also deletes the </ of the closing tag. I do not know if this is an issue to do with some hidden characters/spaces/tabs in the files I am working with, or whatever, but it is irritating. So, is there some way that this behaviour can be changed ??? Hidden prefs in a .plist file ? IF not - or as an immediate alternative - how would I create a regex & Macro that would delete all the space (including tabs, new lines, carriage returns etc ) up until the first < tag ?? I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here. Example A: this is a simple paragraph text Example B: this is a simple paragraph text Example C: <code>this</code> paragraph begins with an html tag Kind regards, Mats

Dictionary choice in textmate

I can't seem to find where the dictionary is specified in text mate? I am using it for Latex and in the installation on my portable Mac spell checking (in US English) works, but the, as far as I can tell identical, installation on my desktop Mac I do not get misspelled words high-lighted, but right clicking on a the misspelled word offers me the suggested better spellings How could I specify sometimes a different dictionary (Uk English, French) Mail knows about the different dictionaries....??

Maybe a 'View' option, that opens in Preview, and a 'Edit' option that opens based on creator code. (as right click/context menu items) Then just a pref, that says 'open' = View or Edit? So even if you have the default 'open'(double click) = View(which would be a good default), you can right click, and say edit if you need to. [Req] New File | Open File in Dock Menu

I always like SubEthaEdit's New File | Open File command in when option-clicking on the dock icon. Is this something that TM could incorporate? Chris -- Do the evolution. Text selection

Hi Allan et al, I have a small request: Following the recent enhancement allowing you to enlarge a selection by using shift in combination with the arrow keys, it would be nice if similar behaviour was exhibited when using the mouse. To clarify, I'd like to be able to double click on a word, hold the shift key and then single click outside the selection to enlarge it. At present, when using the mouse rather than keys to enlarge the selection, it always takes the start of the selection as the insert point rather than switching the insertion point based on whether the new selection point is before or after the current selection. This means that trying to enlarge a selection by shift-clicking before a selection actually results in removing the existing selection rather than enlarging it. Thank you for your time. James

Sorting File Contents and Selections

I'm still very much a TextMate (and mailing list) newbie, so haven't quite got my head around everything - apologies if this is already some built-in thing I am unaware of or if this has already been covered before. Here's something that might prove a minor challenge to my fellow list subscribers (well it does to me). I have a file which is essentially just a list of things. I haven't been overly diligent in keeping things in alphabetical order and now I want to sort the file. I know that I can use the command line and use a UNIX sort on it. In Vim I used to invoke the ! and run it through sort, outputting the results back into the buffer without having to leave Vim. So, is there a way to do it within TextMate? What if I only wanted to sort a selection and overwrite that selection with the sorted version of the selection? What about a reverse sort? Column selections? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Icons in drawer?

Ive noticed that icons in the drawer for files TM doesn't recognize always seem to be the generic document icon rather than the one the Finder uses, does TM need to have the icons built in or can it read them from the Finder when necessary?, I seem to remember earlier version did this, but I could be mistaken. Anyway, Id quite like my .fla and .swf files to have nice icons, Id be happy to supply the icons if they need to be built in, Allan?... Some extra icons

Allan, I have attached icons for .fla, .swf and image files (.jpg, .gif etc) if you need them. If anyone would like to add these to their copy of TM, just open the TM package and drop the files into the Contents/Resources/File Icons/ directory, don't forget the Bindings.plist file as well.
