Beeping in TextMate almost always means a bug/syntax error is being logged to Console. Open up Console (in Utilities folder) after it does it and paste a log here of what the errors are.

So, what happened to your Text bundle? :)
You can inspect it in the Bundle Editor, unfold Text and verify there's a Plain text language. If it's broken, you may want to delete the Text bundle in ~/Library/Application Support/TextMate/Bundles, or at least the Plain text.plist in the Syntaxes sub-dir.

And I think here's my problem. I don't seem to have a bundle named Text. (And have no idea how it disapeared)
How do I go about restoring it?
If you deleted it, run (while TM is not running):
defaults delete com.macromates.textmate OakBundleManagerDeletedBundles
That'll give you back all default bundles which were deleted.

The bundle didn't reappear and the error still occurs.
oh… sorry, my fault actually :)
I renamed the name (on disk) of the bundle, but forgot to update the makefile which exports bundles from the repository to the nightly builds.
I just did: “make nightly” so there's a rev 427 available shortly with the Text bundle included :)
