Most syntaxes are reachable by using a keybaord shortcut: Shift - Ctrl - Option - <first letter of the name>
And if it's not set you can set one of those shortcuts yourself (to any key you like).
And isn't it also so that if you assign several things to the same hotkey, it pops up a little menu, so in effect you can create a "syntax selector" menu?
