I've gotten started with DocBook by using AsciiDoc, which is similar to
Markdown (i.e. it's just plain text). There's a decent TextMate bundle,
to which I've made a few simple adaptations to suit my needs, and I'm
humming along quite happily. Of course I can always look at the XML that
it generates as well, but for initial writing, with a lot of cutting and
pasting and rearrangement, AsciiDoc is more nimble for me. m.
