My path is : /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/texbin
and I put this
in TM prefs > advanced > shell variable > PATH
perhaps you don't have /usr/texbin: in the shell variable (copy/paste
you PATH)
kpsewhich is a tool to find packages in your tex distribution
Mundus:~ ego$ kpsewhich pstricks
/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/generic/pstricks/pstricks.tex
